About Us

Heather Payne, Principal

Dr. Heather Payne serves as the principal of Wolf Springs Elementary. What makes Wolf Springs such a special place isn't just the beautiful building or outstanding programs; it's the dedicated educators and staff who pour their hearts into creating an exceptional experience for every child, every day. Dr. Payne feels incredibly fortunate to work alongside a team that is passionate about helping students learn, grow, and thrive, and is grateful to serve this amazing community.

Dr. Payne has spent her entire career in Blue Valley Schools, serving as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, instructional coach, and school leader. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership, but the most meaningful lessons have come from working alongside students, educators, and families.

The Wolf Springs team believes every child deserves to feel a deep sense of belonging while being challenged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, the staff is committed to creating a school where students love learning, educators feel supported and empowered, and families are valued partners. Built on meaningful relationships, high expectations, and open communication, the Wolf Springs community is dedicated to ensuring every child is known, valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Dr. Payne is honored to build on the strong foundation at Wolf Springs and work alongside the school community to help every child thrive.

Outside of school, Dr. Payne enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their son, Henry. As a family, they love cheering Henry on at his sporting events, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones, spending time with family and friends, and staying involved in their community. They also share their home with Zoey, their adorably sassy pup, who keeps them laughing and reminds everyone that she runs the household.

Dr. Payne considers it a privilege to be part of the Wolf Springs family and looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to continue making Wolf Springs an exceptional place to learn, grow, and belong.
